Toyota Technical Information

3-Way Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Connector kit. Present on many different Toyota's including 04.1997-12.1999 Toyota 4E engines. This 3 pin connector has the usual 2 pins for the ECU engine coolant temp and has a single pin gauge temperature sensor built in.

  • 1X Connector Body - Toyota Part Number 90980-11451
  • 4X Terminals: 0.3-0.5 mm² | 22-20 AWG (Part Number: Sumitomo 8100-0460)
  • 3X Wire seals: Insulation size: 1.4-2 mm (Part Number: Sumitomo 7165-0342)
  • Crimp tool recommendation:
    • Rennsteig 624 1673 3 012 RT Die Set – Terminal and Seal
    • Sargent 3305 MPCT – E Jaws for terminal.
    • Sargent 3306 MPCT – 1 Jaws for wire seal.

Looking into the front of the connector, wires on opposite side.

  1. Sensor Ground (E2 on OEM ECU) - OEM colour - Brown-White
  2. Engine Temp Input (THW on OEM ECU) - OEM colour - Green-Black
  3. Gauge Temp - OEM colour - Yellow-Green
