What is a plug-in wiring loom (harness)?
Unlike a patch harness, a plug-in wiring loom is a complete replacement for the engine wiring, from the ECU to the engine bay fusebox. This loom connects to the engine bay fusebox and 2 interior body connectors. Most factory functions are retained; details on what stays and what doesn’t are further explained below.

This harness uses sub looms (harnesses) with Deutsch/Amphenol DTM/ATM connectors for injectors, coils and additional features so you can change what you need to when you need to. We also supply the pinouts for these connectors so any competent wiring DIYer can make the changes themselves!

Why don’t you offer a patch harness?
There are two reasons really.
- There are already a few companies offering patch harnesses for Starlets so there’s no reason for us to saturate the market.
- The wiring on Starlets is at least 29 years old now and because the engine gets hot, a lot of the connectors are really brittle. We feel the best option is to spend a little more and replace the wiring completely. Depending on your requirements, by the time you add on the additional features you might be at a similar cost with better materials and functionality!
I don’t see any options for fuel/oil pressure sensors or other features, can these be added?
Yes! We include 2 breakout connectors for this purpose, one in the engine bay and another in the interior. Because everyone’s build is different, we decided the best approach would be a modular harness. This means everyone has the same main harness, which keeps production costs low, and you can choose to have whatever extra features they would like, if you want any at all. Features
- Compatible with MK3 JDM EP82 GT Turbo 4E-FTE models from 1994.05-1995.12 – MK3 VIN numbers are from “EP82 -0454759” or higher – If you have a different model then please get in touch for a quote!
- Manufactured mostly using Spec 44/55 wire – rated up to 150ºC (OEM is rated to 80ºC)
- Some TXL and PVC wire is used for the Alternator, Starter and Battery cables
- Loom is covered using Tech Flex high temperature fibreglass braid- rated to over 600ºC
- Injectors and Coils are on sub harasses so these can be changed anytime! Sub harnesses are available to order by contacting us
- Choice of stock injector, EV14/USCAR or Bosch EV1 (Junior Power Timer) connectors.
- Choice of stock coil, K20 COP (coil on plug) or 2ZZ/Yaris COP.
- The harness is modular so you can customise the additional inputs and outputs! Common options are fuel or oil pressure, flex fuel sensor, clutch switch etc… get in touch with your requirements for a quote and to order
- Made in house using production line tooling by Komax, Mecal, Rennsteig, Knipex, DMC, TE, RaceSpec, Ideal and Sargent. For ultimate reliability no cheap generic tools will be used in the construction of your wiring harness, Toyota didn’t so neither will we!
- Quality control including crimp height measurement and point to point pin testing.

- Suitable for Link G4X/G4+ Atom or Monsoon (Can be modified to also fit Storm, Xtreme and Fury but won’t be wired for the additional features – please get in touch if you have one of these ECU’s for a custom order)
- Triggering – Stock 4E-FTE cam sensor (Crank Trigger can be added on as a custom change – please contact us)
- Intake Air Temp Sensor – Bosch JPT 2 wire or OEM sensor connector – Sensor not included
- Coolant Sensor (ECT) – Bosch 2 JPT connector – Sensor not included
- Throttle Position (TPS) – EP Wiring Bosch TPS mount kit included! – Sensor not included
- Injectors – Choice of Stock Toyota (aka Denso style), Bosch EV14/USCAR (ID 1050X, EV14 etc) or Bosch EV1 (Junior Power Timer)
- Coils – Choice of Factory 4E-FTE, K20 Coil on Plug, 2ZZ/Yaris Coil on Plug, Audi R8 Coil on Plug – Coil packs not included
- Ground Ring Terminals for Coils, AUX, CAN and ECU
- Knock Sensor Wiring for Bosch 0261231006 – Sensor not included
- Boost Solenoid (MAC solenoid) – Solenoid not included, can be purchased here, select the option with DTM connector
- Engine Bay AUX connector (12V+ Power, Ground, 5V+ Sensor Supply, Sensor Ground, 2 Analog Volt Inputs, 1 Aux Output and 1 Loop wire to cabin Aux)
- Cabin AUX connector (12V+ Power, Ground, 5V+ Sensor Supply, Sensor Ground and 1 Analog Volt Input, 1 Digital input, 1 Aux Output and 1 Loop wire to engine Aux)
- CAN Plug next to ECU wired to suit LinkECU products such as CAN Lambda, Gauges or Dashes etc – Pins can be rearranged DIY to suit Haltech/others.
- OEM Check Engine Light
- OEM Tacho signal for stock gauge cluster – Tacho modification by soldering a 1kohm resistor in gauge cluster (Check our our DIY video) or by wiring in something like a Haltech Tacho Output Adaptor
- Oil pressure light by OEM switch – If using oil pressure sensor on AUX plug you can wire the ECU to the Oil pressure light – ask for this in the order comments

- Fuel Pump relay trigger from ECU output
- Speed Sensor Signal from Stock Gauge Cluster – If you are using a digital dash this will be spare, we suggest adding a gearbox or wheel speed sensor
Not included but required for fitment:
- The MIDI fuses which are bolted onto the OEM engine wiring must be reused.
- If using Link AtomX – you will require a Manifold Pressure (MAP) Sensor. This can easily be added via a sub harness on Engine Bay AUX plug.
- Bosch 0 280 130 026 (0280130026) engine coolant temperature sensor – replaces OEM ECT sensor.
- Bosch 0 280 122 001 (0280122001) TPS variable throttle position sensor – replaces OEM sensor. Mount included with wiring!
OEM parts not used:
- ABS – Some or all parts of ABS may no longer work
- AC vac solenoids – AC may still work but please ask to confirm
- Stock idle valve
- Diagnostics port
